Multiple indepth white boarding sessions to understand new use cases & data attributes helped in coming up with better data hierarchy & detailed task analysis.

Additional pain points discovered from heuristic evaluation
Current design not scalable for new business cases
57 table columns led to an long horizontal scroll which was a usability concern
Task execution was difficult due to unstructured & overwhelming amount of data
Hypothesis
By improving information hierarchy and incorporating the progressive disclosure technique, users will feel less overwhelmed and have step by step guidance for the process they need to execute.

A) Taking UI inspiration from stacked boxes

B) Exploring warehouse aisle’s as swim lanes

A match between system and the real world intuitively felt like the right heuristic design principle to follow.
Next, I partnered with the UX reseacher to create a usability testing protocol. I ran 5 sessions and also created a research report.
We listened to our users and learn't valuable lessons.
Process stepper wasn't adding much value. Users preferred to view a line level progress update of items packaged.
Placement of the ‘+ Add Lot’ button caused majority of the usability problem.

Helpful tips at the bottom!
Improved process visualization
Adding contextual action saved 1
click per step(5 clicks per task)

I was the first one to explore a canvas style design in our team,
so was able to make several contributions to our design system.

Canvas style designed by me
set a new foundation and opened
many new discussions in the team
to make it richer.
We only had pop-ups in our design system. Side sheet/ sliders became wildly popular in the team after this project!

Optimizing the user interface and streamlining workflows yielded a daily productivity gain of 50 minutes per user through an average time savings of 1.3 seconds per task.
To add further, this project was instrumental in signing of the million $ deal with Roche which was a huge impact on GEP's business.
Impact:
Think 1000x when solving any enterprise design problem. This way one can come up with design solutions that are scalable and sustainable.
Time was a big challenge on this project. For future iterations I would spend more time on experimenting with varied color palettes and icons.
Reflection:
Crafted with love.
